As Principal Cloud Architect at BrezQ, you will lead the architecture of enterprise cloud platforms for Tier-1 clients across financial services, healthcare, and the public sector. You will define target-state architecture, lead technical governance, and act as the senior technical voice in client-facing delivery programmes.
The RoleWhat you will work on
You will be embedded in one of BrezQ's flagship enterprise delivery programmes — working alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, delivery managers, and client stakeholders. BrezQ's cloud architecture engagements span cloud-native greenfield builds, large-scale migrations, and post-migration optimisation programmes.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be accountable for
Define target-state cloud architecture for enterprise client programmes spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP
Lead architecture governance boards, technical design authority sessions, and architecture review gates
Produce artefacts including architecture decision records (ADRs), solution design documents, and cloud roadmaps
Mentor and develop senior engineers and cloud engineers within your practice area
Engage directly with client CTO, CISO, and VP Engineering stakeholders on strategic architecture decisions
Own the technical quality and architectural integrity of all cloud delivery within assigned programmes
Collaborate with BrezQ's FinOps, Security, and DevOps practices on integrated platform delivery
RequirementsWhat we expect from you
12+ years of enterprise technology experience with 6+ years in cloud architecture leadership roles
Active certifications in two or more of: AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect
Demonstrated experience leading cloud programmes with budgets exceeding £5M and teams of 20+ engineers
Strong command of hybrid and multi-cloud architecture patterns, network security design, and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep)
Proven track record of stakeholder engagement at CTO / VP Engineering level
Experience in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, or public sector) strongly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication — able to produce board-level architecture documentation

- TOGAF or Zachman enterprise architecture certification
- Experience with FinOps frameworks and cloud unit economics at scale
- Prior experience in a Big Four, global systems integrator, or specialist cloud consultancy
- Contributions to open-source cloud tooling or published architecture thought leadership
